Guidelines for Classifying International and National Journals

The Board of Trustees approved the revised guideline for classifying international and national journals in the fields of science and technology, and social sciences, for the renewals of SIIT faculty members’ contracts and satisfying the publication requirements for graduation. This revised guideline is effective for graduate students enrolled from academic year 2016 onward, and is applied to papers submitted after June 22, 2016 onward. The classification is as follows:
 
1.  International Journals in Citation Index (weight = 1.0)
   
1.1 International journals are indexed in ISI Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
 
1.2 International journals are in ISI databases, which can be viewed from the Thomson Reuters’s    Master Journal List and include the following indexes:
 
          - Science Citation Index Expanded
 
          - Social Science Citation Index
 
          - Arts & Humanities Citation Index

 
2.  International Journals in SCOPUS (weight = 0.75)
   
Source types must be classified as “Journals” in the SCOPUS Source Type and papers must be indexed as “Articles” in the Document Type.

 
3.  National Journals (weight = 0.5)
   
3.1  Journals are listed in Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI), Group 1 and Group 2.      
  
3.2  Journals are listed in ASEAN Citation Index (ACI).

The papers must not be published by publishers in Beall’s List of Predatory 
Publishers.
