LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES CENTERS
The SIIT Academic Committee approved the revision of the definition of international conferences, for reimbursement of conference expenses of SIIT faculty members and satisfying the publication requirements for graduation of students. The revisions are effective on May 18, 2024 onwards (based on the submission date). The revised guidelines are as follows:
Conference committees, including organizing, scientific, or technical committees, comprise experts from a minimum of 3 countries.
Abstracts, and full papers if any, presented at the conference are submitted by authors from a minimum of 3 countries.
Abstracts, and full papers if any, are in English.
Abstracts, and full papers if any, undergo peer review before acceptance.
Any conference identified by the organizer as a “national conference” is not an international conference.
Conferences organized by predatory organizers or publishers do not qualify as international conferences.

Full papers from SIIT faculty members or students presented at international conferences will only be recognized by SIIT if they are officially published and disseminated in the conference proceedings, either in printed or digital formats.

Remarks:
As required in the curriculum, an entire paper must be included in international conference proceedings. For graduate students, the thesis paper must be accepted and registered for presentation at an international conference, satisfying the above guidelines. Posters and abstracts only are not satisfied.
